February Reflections – 2022 Transitions

snow, sorrow, solitude, and silence

the beginning of my 75th year

a time to reflect and listen deeply

finding the thread of gratitude

that weaves seemingly discrete moments

into a simple life of love and learning

transcending contexts of conflicts

over transitory illusions of control

while noticing beauty in unexpected places

even during the most trying transitions

  1. In the shadow of all the conflicts and turmoil on this planet, you always give peace with what you share, dear Carol. And I wish that this peaceful heart and mind of yours will give us and many more peace in the same way in many more years. Happy birthday my dear earthling friend!

  2. What a great photo of either the sunset or sunrise and the ice cycle. WOW.

I would be so proud of myself if I could actually do this more. Actually really being in the “now,” regardless of what’s happening. But so, so, so, so, so, so hard, I find.

    1. Your lovely comments are always a gift that makes me smile, Stacey. Thank you! 💜

I wish I could say it’s easy to “stay in the moment of gratitude,” but even after 75 years of practice, it’s still a challenge. 😎

  3. Carol, I loved your poetic words and images. You published the poem on my birthday. I try to remain low key but find myself happy to have lived and experienced so much through travel to many countries. Be well and thanks for stopping by my site. Do drop by for another visit. 🙂

  4. Thank you for sharing a part of your world!!… hope you have the mostest Happy Birthday ever and the day, every day and all your presents were filled with love and happiness!!.. 🙂

    Until we meet again..
    May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
    Brightened by a song
    in your heart,
    And warmed by the smiles
    of people you love.
