We set off for a visit to Enger Park

despite a sky growing increasingly dark
*
*
passing by rocky cliffs

*
and winding shore
*

*
toward Enger Tower to explore
*
*
beneath trees adorned with autumnal glory
*

*
just before winter snow in northern territory

snow? It snows, even after hot summers.
beautiful country

Nature gives us so much. Alas, think of how we repay her? She can’t stay so beautiful under the constant polluting of human assault.

Astute observations, Léa. Witnessing nature’s beauty often reminds one of how little we appreciate the wonder that surrounds us and how poorly we do as caretakers.

Thank you Carol. I am surrounded by her beauty every day. The river just outside my door, the trees, vineyards, waterfall, the owl families in the trees… we have been entrusted with so much and look how we repay her. Sorry, I’m back on my soapbox.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, Maria, and for teaching me something new! I had to look up “Samhain” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samhain). 🙂

Ha-ha-ha! Indeed? I see it is not as common in the USA as I expected.

Wonderful photos! Your colours are still nice and bright. . . even with a dusting of snow! I enjoyed reading about the park and tower. Isn’t it nice to be able to share these places with children and grandchildren? Take care friend!

Thank you so much for your kind words, Bob. My shots were lucky. Nature, family, and my little camera did the rest. It is a joy to share these places with family, and then to share stories about our adventures with others.
I am so glad that you are sharing your stories, special places, love of nature, and wisdom with Scarlet and Cooper.
It’s funny how stories keep memories alive. Last week, my grandson and I were talking about a place I lived in Illinois when he was about 2. He and my daughter came to visit. I asked him if he remembered the house. “Oh, the ‘tinky bush house! I remember it!” (Someday, I’ll have to share the “tinky bush story with you. It still makes my grandson laugh even though he’s almost grown up.)
Sending my best wishes to you, dear friend. ❤

I enjoyed the trip, I must say – your autumn is so colourful, ours is very plain, almost indecipherable except for the imported plants.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Paul. Much of the color has gone now here, but “very plain” is beautiful in its own way as your photos of your walks in the bush or by the ocean repeatedly show.
