Thank you for your thoughtful, lovely comments, Chris. My first two years here, I never got to see the columbines blossom. Deer ate them, trampled my raised-bed gardens, and pulled up my baby tomato plants. (The last picture was an experiment and an unexpected gift. I needed to hold the camera lens facing upward under the flower, hoping it was properly focused. I was delighted when I saw the image later.)
