Carol A. Hand
Even though surreal psychopathy rules, gentle moments of beauty still fill my heart with joy. It’s the poignant passing moments I prefer to celebrate and share today.

Green grass revealed by this week’s untimely thaw

now frozen, crunching beneath my slippered feet
the viola that was bravely blooming yesterday
frosted, resting peacefully on the frozen ground

(My amateurish attempt to turn a blurry photo into edited art when there was no chance to ever capture this moment again…)

Acknowledgment:
This post was inspired by my lovely, creative granddaughter who’s been spending the week with me. She’s been busy helping me build new memories rather than editing old ones.

Wow, the timeline pics look so good. And that too in just 2 days!

Love how you say, “build new memories rather than editing old ones.” A good reminder to relish the present.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, JoAnn. It is tempting to screen out these challenging times by living in the past or worrying about the future. I’m grateful for the reminders to be present in the moment that my granddaughter inspires. 🙂

Thank you for your lovely comment, Bob. My litmus test when I post something that stretches my comfort level is to often ask, “I wonder what Bob will think?” It’s true. I appreciate your ability to distinguish authenticity and something that just doesn’t quite ring true. Thank you so much for that. 🙂

Love your pictures. Photographer’s personality reflects in their pictures as much as writer’s personality reflects in their books. It is a fact.
Hope you have a lovely weekend with you granddaughter xx

I have been absent from my blog for too long this past year. I miss your wisdom, thoughts, and story-teller. You are an inspiring writer! Pretty scary that we are seeing this weather. We broke a record for 7 days in a row “warmest” of all time in history!

Thank you for your always lovely comments, Robbie. I’ve missed your blog, too. The effects of the wild weather shifts, especially for trees and bushes, worries me a lot. I’m not sure if it’s possible to protect them.
