Carol A. Hand
A grey drizzly morning, this first day of fall
The singing trees of yesterday now emptied
of their feathered traveling visitors
Leaves, still green, rustling in the breeze
signaling the changing seasons
Blades of grass bejeweled with shining droplets
remnants of last night’s rain
It’s too wet to harvest beans and broccoli just yet
But there are always more student papers to grade
Another sacred task – one that nourishes mind and spirit
***
Oh yes there were always papers to grade and lessons to plan and things to make ready for the morrow. I always enjoy your reflections, dear Carol! 🙂 ❤

Beautiful analogy between nourishing the greens in your garden and the minds of the future. Hope the rain clears and the grading goes well.

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful insights, Annika. (Papers are done, and I even harvested the green beans and broccoli! Processing them will have to wait a little, though.)

As always beautiful rendition and combining the nature’s greenery and the sacredness of nurturing the mind and souls. Love your work so much, it helps me so much beyond words, sorry for not always coming here but I follow your progress with much zeal. Blessings and greetings from the eastern horizon! 🙂

Thank you so much for your lovely, thoughtful comments, Saadia. I follow your progress with intense interest as well, although these days I don’t often have much time to comment. Blessings to you, dear friend from the eastern horizon, from the land on the southwest shore of Lake Superior. 🙂
