Carol A. Hand
Breathing in the frosty air
With birdsong echoing everywhere
Sunlight revealing budding trees
Grateful for spring mornings such as these
Awed by the beauty and wonder of earth
Sensing this moment’s incalculable worth
A bittersweet feeling as I greet the day
Morning will pass too soon
‘Though I wish it to stay
